Description: This elegant gentleman's style folder is made by South African maker John Wilmot. It really shows John's attention to details and skills to produce elegant folding knives. John worked for the Department of Agriculture and trained as a civil engineer in South Africa. In the early nineties, his wife brought home a book from the library on how to make knives which sparked his interest. In 1995, he took early retirement and relocated to the Eastern Cape with the aim of concentrating on full time knifemaking. His knives are both collector's items and intended to be used.
The damascus drop point blade is stainless damascus forged by Damasteel. This high performing stainless damascus steel is created using powder metallurgical manufacturing to provide excellent edge retention and unmatched beauty. The intricate pattern is extremely engaging and encourages closer examination. A hollow grind provides thin geometry and an easy to maintain edge. The blade is perfectly centered and has silky-smooth action.
Handle scales are stabilized amboyna burl set on bronze anodized titanium liners. The scales meet nicely to front and rear Damasteel bolsters. Torx construction is used throughout.
Great work throughout!
