Description: CarlMichael Almqvist has been a knifemaker for nearly 45 years, having crafted his first knife at 15. The many years of artistry clearly show in this exceptional Viking Hunter.
The multi-bar composite damascus blade was forged to shape by renowned Swedish bladesmith Andre Andersson. Firecracker pattern mosaic damascus edge and spine bars are forged from 20C and 15N20 carbon steels for a keen, long lasting edge. A central bar of twisted Ws pattern damascus immediately grabs attention. As is traditional in Nordic countries, the blade is created by a true master of the forge, whereas the handle is created by a master knifemaker who has focused exclusively on that. This focus allows an amazing level of skill to be developed.
The handle is moose antler with a masur birch bolster, bringing in warm tones. The antler has been meticulously engraved (not scrimshawed) with a Viking scene. One side features the profile of a Viking heading to war. The reverse shows the Viking battleship.
The accompanying Swedish leather sheath is perfectly fit to the knife and also made by carlMichael.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
