Description: Stan Buzek is a part time knifemaker living in Caldwell, Texas. Stanley mainly makes slipjoint pocket knives, liner locks, and frame lock folders. His knives have been features in Blade Magazine, Knife World, and several editions of Knives Annual. He has won numerous awards over the years including Best Folder at the 2021 Lost Pines Knife Show, Best Traditional Folder at the 2020 Arkansas Knife Show, Best Multi-Blade Folder at the 2020 Forth Worth, Texas Show, and Best Art Knife at the 2019 Fort Worth, Texas Show.
This Slipjoint Trapper with Black Jigged Bone shows Buzek's high precision work. The clip point blade is hand ground CPM-154 stainless steel with a meticulous hand rubbed satin finish. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant. The blade can be easily opened using the right-handed nail nick. The blade has consistent, smooth action and a firm half stop.
Jigged bone handle scales meet perfectly with 416 stainless steel bolsters. Showing tremendous craftsmanship, the bolsters are integral to the liners. The 416 stainless steel bullet escutcheon is a nice accent. The liners are hand fileworked.
Excellent work throughout!
