Description: Mastersmith Mike Vagnino began his journey into knifemaking in 1995, starting with a forging class taught by Karl Shroen. He continued his training under the watchful eye of Mastersmith Tim Hancock. He received his journeyman smith rating in 2001 and his Mastersmith rating in 2003. He strives to build high performing, yet beautiful knives. This Mystery Knife with Heat Colored Titanium is a playful folder with a very unique mechanism!
The blade is perfectly centered. A ball bearing on the inside of the handle locks the blade in place. To open the knife - press in on the blade while the knife is held in tip-up position. This allows the ball bearing to move out from behind the blade. When closing the knife, the knife must be help in tip-down position to lock in place.
The 2.2 inch blade is CPM-154 stainless steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. Mike's touchmark is engraved onto the spine. The blade is flat ground and razor sharp.
The handle is flame colored titanium. The slim handle is easy to carry even in the change pocket of a pair of jeans. This small knife weighs less than 1 oz so you won't even notice it is on you until it is needed.
Excellent work throughout!
