Description: Captain Bunshichi Koyama is a tremendously creative knifemaker from Japan. His designs are truly innovative -- often combining ancient and modern materials into whimsical, unique creations.
This folder features a 3" solid VG-10 stainless steel blade. VG-10 provides ultra-high performance with stain resistance. The blade is easily opened using the right handed thumb stud. It is well centered with consistent action.
Handle scales are set on anodized titanium liners. The scales combine bronze bolsters with carbon fiber spacers and stabilized antique woven nishijin-ori fabric. Originating in Heian-kyoto over 1,200 years ago, nishijin-ori is known for its highly-decorative and finely-woven designs. This fabric is used for high-quality obi and kimono even today. The titanium liners surround a fileworked titanium backspacer.
Excellent work throughout!
