Description: As an avid hunter, Randy knows how a good hunting knife should perform. He loves to "field-test" his designs and feels that a quality knife should not only look great, but perform well as a tool. This one-of-a-kind hunter is no exception. This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made. It is in brand new condition and by appearances it could have been made yesterday!
The hollow ground CPM-154 stainless steel blade is hardened to Hrc 58-60 to ensure that the edge will remain razor sharp through the most difficult tasks, yet will be easy to sharpen. The spine is hand fileworked for a secure thumb purchase when choking up on the blade. The blade is mirror polished.
The handle is Arizona desert ironwood burl (Olneya tesota). Ironwood is a rare wood that is only found in the valleys of the Sonoran Desert below 2,500 foot elevation. It is among the most desirable of exotic woods used for knives. Stacked black Micarta and stainless spacers surround a central spacer made from amber. The handle is finished with front and rear bolsters made from polished stainless steel.
To keep the knife close at hand, a tooled pouch style leather sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
