Description: I have long been in awe of French knifemaker Charlie Bennica's work. His fit and finish are exceptional and are met by very few makers. His sense of style and innovation are similarly unique. It is no surprise that he has won multiple accolades over the years. This exceptional folder has been in a private collection since it was made in 2006. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
The blade is firecracker pattern damascus forged from carbon steels by Claude Schosseler. The intricate pattern is extremely engaging and demands further inspection. The elegant boot grind features a false edge along the top of the knife. The front flipper opener is easy to use -- designed for easy single handed opening and closing.
The frame and backbar are matching damascus. Both sides of the knife are inlaid with antique shell. The inside of the backbar is engraved with Bennica's maker mark and the year 2006. The hand contoured handle feels exceptional when held. This is a knife you'll examine for hours at a time and you won't want to put it down!
Excellent work throughout!
