Description: Des Horn is one of the fathers of the South African knife industry. His influence can be clearly seen in other South African's work, but also extends to knives made around the world. Whether put to a daily carry folder or an art knife, his attention to detail and skill is legendary.
The Slimvubu is Des' ultra-light version of his renowned Imbuvu. At just 3.2 oz, carbon fiber and titanium keep this knife as light and fast as it comes.
The blade is Damasteel stainless damascus which has been double tempered and cryogenically treated in liquid nitrogen. This technique of heat treatment results in an incredibly long lasting edge and high resistance to chipping. The blade is perfectly centered and has silky smooth action. It is easily opened using the front flipper mechanism. This style of flipper is not designed to be flicked open (though it can be done with practice), but instead it is rotated with the thumb.
High gloss carbon fiber scales keep this EDC light yet strong. It feels exceptional in the hand yet disappears in the pocket. The handle is completed with blue anodized titanium liners that elegantly contrast against the carbon fiber scales. The ultra-light titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip up carry.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
