Description: This impressive bowie is made in the style of the famous bowie maker Bill Bagwell. Bill was one of the founding members of the American Bladesmith Society and is believed to have been the second modern bladesmith to make pattern welded damascus steel. Bagwell built a reputation not only on his fighting bowies, but also on the knife writing he did for magazines such as Soldier of Fortune and Tactical Knives. He also authored the book: Bowies, Big Knives, and the Best of Battle Blades. His knife combat techniques have been taught as part of the Special Forces training at Ft. Bragg. This knife by Erik Fritz is an homage to Bagwell's famous Hell's Belle Bowie.
The 9-1/2 inch blade is hand forged Satan's Lace pattern damascus, hand forged from carbon steels.
The coffin handle is hand contoured cocobolo As is typical of the Hell's Belle style, this handle features large, domed pins. The mild steel C-guard is perfectly designed to catch an incoming blade and with a quick move, it allows you to deflect or disarm the incoming attack.
Nice work throughout!
