Description: Luke Swenson is a fulltime knifemaker originally out of Lakehills, Texas. He recently moved to Plumber, Idaho. He is well known for his high quality slipjoint folding knives that he learned to make under the watchful eye of renowned maker Bill Ruple. Luke strives to make his knives from as many high quality American products as possible and offers a lifetime warranty with all of his work.
This Single Blade Trapper is a prime example of Luke's fine work and attention to detail. The larger handle fills your hand nicely, yet disappears easily into the pocket.
The blade and spring are formed from CPM-154 stainless steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant. The blade is perfectly centered and has smooth, consistent action with a half stop. It can be easily opened using the right-handed nail nick.
Handle scales are formed from carbon fiber. The scales are secured to 416 stainless steel bolsters and fileworked liners using pins. Showing an exceptional level of craftsman, the bolster is integral to the liner -- made from one single piece of steel. While requiring an higher level of craftsmanship, this results in superior durability and integrity. A stainless steel escutcheon is inlaid into the left scale. A lanyard can be easily added to the rear of the knife.
Excellent work throughout!
