Description: Anders Högström is a talented maker from Johanneshov, Sweden. He combines traditional Nordic, Japanese, and medieval styles into one and makes it his own. He is well known for his exceptional fit and finish and well done designs. Just about everything Högström makes is truly one-of-a-kind!
The 1050 carbon steel blade features a differential heat treatment. The undulating line travelling across the blade was created by a technique Hogstrom borrowed from Japanese swords. The spine was coated in clay prior to quenching. By acting as a heat sink, the clay results in a keen, long lasting cutting edge with a softer, supportive spine.
The handle is redwood burl secured to the tang using a domed copper pin. The dramatic wood has swirling figure and many burl eyes that will have you staring at it for hours. The copper bolster features a textured finish that nicely complements the wood handle.
A traditional Swedish leather sheath with a single seam and belt loop keeps the knife close at hand.
Excellent work throughout!
