Description: This folder from South African maker Des Horn has a slim silhouette. The clip blade is made of mirror polished Damasteel that has been heat treated for optimal edge retention. The bolsters are made of Gibeon meteorite which landed in Great Namaqualand, Namibia, Africa, over 4 billion years ago. The Gibeon fragments are spread over one of the largest strewn fields in the world, measuring 70 miles wide by 230 miles long and have a distinctive pattern known as the Widmanstatten pattern, which is one of the richest and most distinct patterns found in meteorites. The bolsters angle into mammoth ivory scales that are every bit as impressive as the meteorite bolsters. The blade opens by pressing on the back of the blade, rather than by using a thumbstud, and the liner locks the blade in place. By avoiding a thumbstud, the knife is allowed a sleeker profile. This is an incredible knife to hold and to look at.
