Description: This elegant drop point hunter was hand built by Corpus Christi, TX knifemaker Stephen Scherer. Steven started making knives in 1979 and went full time after retirement in 2007.
The drop point blade was hand ground from Hakkapella stainless damascus forged by Damasteel in Sweden. The high contrast steel is both dramatic and extremely high performing. It is marked on the left side with Scherer's maker's mark.
Interior mammoth ivory handle scales are set on the full tang for strength and durability. Black fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The scales are set in place with a mosaic pin and a lined lanyard loop. Bolsters are formed from carbon fiber. By dovetailing the joint between bolsters and scales, Scherer ensures a perfect fit for years to come. The scales are meticulously scrimshawed by Sherry Sellers. A detailed image of Chief Eagle is depicted on the left scale.
The knife is accompanied by a custom hand stitched pouch style leather sheath, ensuring this knife will stay safe on your next hunting trip.
Excellent work throughout!
