Description: The Rio Grande Skinner with Stag is made by renowned Texas knifemaker Johnny Stout. Johnny began making knives in 1983 and became a full-time maker in 1992. He is best known for his exquisite linerlock folders, though he also makes lockbacks, autos, and fixed blades.
The CPM-154 stainless steel blade ensures a low maintenance, high performance knife. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant. A hand rubbed satin finish lends an heirloom quality.
Dyed sambar stag handle scales are set on the distal tapered full tang, ensuring strength and durability. The scales are set with two mosaic pins. Fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. A nickel silver bolster brings weight to the center of the knife.
This hunter is accompanied by a hand tooled leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout.
