Description: Arno Bernard Sr. is a maker from South Africa and has been making knives for over 35 years. He has been a member of the Knifemakers Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) for over 20 years. Living in South Africa has allowed him the luxury of using many different exotic handle materials -- some even collected himself.
This utility/hunter is Bohler N690 stainless steel. The blade was stonewash finished then brought to a hand rubbed satin finish to give the blade a worn-in look and hide scratches from use. N690 takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade has been hollow ground to a high-performance edge. The spine has been rounded for comfort.
The handle is stabilized kudu horn set to the full tang using five stainless steel pins. The material is taken from the inside of the kudu horn and has been polished -- combining a dramatic appearance with durability. The knife is lightweight (just 3.2 oz!) and comfortable to hold, making it perfect for a daily carry fixed blade.
A pouch style leather sheath helps to keep this knife close at hand.
Excellent work throughout!
