Description: Dylan Murrish started making knives at the beginning of 2017. At first, his plan was to make a knife for his father, fulfilling a promise that he had made many years before. He made a few knives using stock removal techniques, but soon tried his hands at forging -- and he has never looked back. Dylan's work is exceptional, combining a tremendous level of fit and finish with exceptional artistry. Dylan is a voting member of the Knifemakers Guild of Southern Africa.
The massive blade, which measures 12-1/2 inches is a 320 layer Sunbeam pattern damascus, combining 1070 and 15N20 carbon steels. The pattern is high contrast and shows nice detail. There is a false edge on the clip.
The clamshell style guard, frame, and pommel are 5160 high carbon spring steel. They are each hardened, tempered, and meticulously hot blued. The pommel is set with a matching end cut of the dyed and stabilized giraffe bone. Handle scales are stabilized and dyed giraffe bone, set with hand domed nickel silver pins.
Exceptional fit and finish throughout. Dylan is clearly a maker that is well worth watching!
