Description: Higonokami are the classic folding pocket knives native to Japan. This traditional knife is a friction folder, using the friction of the swivel and the pressure of the user's hand on a protruding tang to prevent the knife from folding during use.
The elegant blade is stainless damascus surrounding a VG-10 'super-steel' core. This steel ensures exceptional edge holding. The spine is carved into the shape of bamboo. The blade has smooth action and is nicely centered.
Koji-san meticulously carved the silicone handle into a bamboo shape matching the blade. Showing tremendous realism, Koji even carved 'splits' into the bamboo, mimicking the behavior of the natural wood. The bronze is patinaed to a rose tone. The pivot combines textured brass and stainless steel. The copper frame surrounds a mirror polished 420 backbar, also carved into the shape of bamboo.
Truly an exceptional folder!
