Description: This beautiful hunting knife was created by Bob Crowder of Thompson Falls, Montana. Bob sold his first knife back in 1985. He is one of the founders of the Montana Knifemakers Association. He makes a clean, well done knife that begs to be used.
The drop point blade is made from RWL-34 stainless steel with a mirror polish. RWL-34 is a premium powder metallurgy cutlery steel manufactured by ERASTEEL in Söderfors, Sweden. Because it is made from rapidly solidified powders, the microstructure of the steel is much more uniform. This gives the steel higher strength and resistance to cracks and chips. The hollow ground blade is razor sharp. Bob's maker mark can be seen on the left side of the blade.
Heavily textured Sambar stag scales are nicely fit to 416 stainless steel bolsters. Red fiber spacers provide a touch of contrast and assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The scales are secured to the full tang using six hand domed pins. Both the spine and tang are distal tapered providing excellent balance. A satin finished stainless steel bolster completes the handle.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand stitched black leather sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
