Description: Frank Edwards began his journey into knifemaking in 2009 and started forging in 2011. He joined the American Blade Society in 2017 and recently completed a folder class taught by Mastersmiths Bill Burke and Rick Dunkerley. Frank has spent some time working alongside Mastersmith Burke in his workshop since the class, which has taken his work to a completely new level!
The drop point feather pattern damascus blade was forged from 1080 and 15n20 carbon steels. The high contrast pattern is captivating and will have excellent edge retention. Because this knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to oil both the blade and premium bark mammoth ivory handle scales. The blade easily rotates on Teflon washers using the right-handed thumbstud and has silky smooth action.
Handle scales are made from ancient woolly mammoth bark scales, well matched in burnt cream and coffee tones with veins of dark green and blue. The scales are beautifully dovetailed to mokume-gane bolsters and feature an heirloom fit. The 15n20 liners have been heat blued, textured, and hand fileworked. The liners surround a matching heat blued and fileworked backbar. Screws throughout are hand fileworked and heat colored.
Excellent work throughout!
