Description: Frank Edwards began his journey into knifemaking in 2009 and started forging in 2011. He joined the American Blade Society in 2017 and recently completed a folder class taught by Mastersmiths Bill Burke and Rick Dunkerley. Frank has spent some time working alongside Mastersmith Burke in his workshop since the class, which has taken his work to a completely new level!
The drop point twist pattern damascus blade was forged from 1080 and 15n20 carbon steel. The high contrast pattern is captivating and will have excellent edge retention. Because this knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to oil both the blade and premium mammoth bark handle. The blade rotates on Teflon washers and has silky smooth action. It is perfectly centered and can be easily deployed using the right-handed thumbstud. The spine is nicely fileworked.
The handle is made from ancient wooly mammoth bark scales well matched in burnt cream and coffee tones with veins of dark green. The scales are beautifully dovetailed to matching twist pattern damascus bolsters. 15N20 carbon steel liners are heat blued and fileworked. The liners surround a fileworked 15N20 carbon steel backbar. Screws throughout have been hand fileworked. Frank's mark is engraved on the inside of backbar.
Excellent work throughout!
