Description: Conny Persson's knives are an inspiration to knifemakers and collectors. His influence in easily seen in many of the other Nordic makers. Regrettably, very little of his work gets to the US these days. This exceptional hunter was made by Conny around 2007. It has been meticulously cared for and by all appearances, Persson could have made it yesterday.
The three bar composite blade has excellent contrast and very complex patterns. It show's Conny's skill at its best. The central bar of mosaic damascus is forged using carbon steels and pure nickel, creating a stark contrast of black and silver mosaic patterns. The edge and spine bars are forged from Uddeholm 15N20 and 20C carbon steels, ensuring the best possible edge.
The handle has spectacular grain structure, with a swirling figure. It is formed from Swedish masur birch wood. Each side features an inlay formed from ancient wooly mammoth ivory. A damascus steel end cap completes the handle to perfection.
The knife is accompanied by a Swedish style leather sheath.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
