Description: This Drake Hunter was made by renowned Northwest knifemaker Rod Chappel and completed Mark 7th, 1984. It has been in a private collection and has been well cared for. It has never been used and is in new condition. Rod Chappel was an Alaskan Native American knifemaker and created knives of tremendous distinction.
The 4 inch upswept blade is a classic shape for Rod. The sweeping lines and mirror polish show off his tremendous skill at the grinder. The left side of the blade is stamped "CHAPPEL / EDMONDS, WA". It is inscribed March 7th, 1984…..". The right side is marked "Roderick Caribou Chappel …. / Drake / Ser No .001".
The handle continues the grind lines that made Chappel famous. The highly contoured handle feels great! It was carved from a beautiful piece of rosewood. The fittings are formed from mirror polished stainless steel. Black and red fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes.
Excellent work throughout from one of the great makers in the custom knife industry!
