Description: Luke Swenson is a fulltime knifemaker originally out of Lakehills, Texas. He recently moved to Plumber, Idaho. He is well known for his high quality slipjoint folding knives that he learned to make under the watchful eye of renowned maker Bill Ruple. Luke strives to make his knives from as many high quality American products as possible and offers a lifetime warranty with all of his work.
This folder was Luke's first ever linerlock folder. It was made in a class taught by Mastersmiths Bill Burke and Rick Dunkerley. The pattern is a Dunkerley design. The knife is spectacular with the same level of fit and finish you would expect from one of Swenson's slipjoints. The action is smooth and lockup is perfect!
The damascus blade is ground to shape from a feather pattern damascus forged by Mastersmith Bill Burke. The high contrast pattern is highly captivating and will have excellent edge retention. Because this knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to oil both the blade and mammoth bark handle. The blade rotates on Teflon washers and has silky smooth action. The blade is perfectly centered and can be easily deployed using the right-handed thumbstud.
The handle is made from ancient wooly mammoth bark scales well matched in burnt cream and coffee tones with hints of dark green. The scales are beautifully dovetailed to 416 stainless steel bolsters. The bolsters have been hand engraved and inlaid with 24k gold by engraver Alice Carter. 15N20 carbon steel liners are stippled and heat colored bronze. The liners surround a rope fileworked 15N20 carbon steel backbar. Screws throughout have been textured and heat colored to match.
Excellent work throughout!
