Description: Swedish knifemaker Greger Forselius has a flair for design and implementation. This Clip Point Swedish Hunter shows his work at its best!
The multi-bar damascus blade was hand forged by Ukrainian bladesmith Konstantin Lysenko. Beginning with carbon steels, Lysenko forged a three bar blade incorporating explosion pattern for the edge and spine with a detailed mosaic damascus for the central mosaic damascus bar.
The elegant handle combines spalted oak burl with alder root and bog oak. The bog oak wood has been buried in a Nordic peat bog for hundreds or sometimes thousands of years. The extremely low oxygen conditions of the bog protect the wood from normal decay, while the underlying peat provides acidic conditions where iron salts and other minerals react with the tannins in the wood, gradually giving it a distinct dark brown to almost black color. By using stabilzed woods, Forselius ensures the handle will have strength and durability. Fileworked nickel silver spacers add a nice contrast.
The knife is accompanied by a traditional Swedish wooden sheath with a leather upper. The combination of the custom dyed leather with masur birch is very elegant.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
