Description: Aaron Wilburn became a journeyman smith in June of 2009 and a master smith in 2013. He has an incredible control over damascus that few others can replicate. Wilburn creates serious knives for some of the most avid collectors and knife enthusiasts. This knife will be as comfortable being used out in the field as it would in any collection!
The 6-1/3" blade was forged to shape using Aaron's own Twist pattern damascus. The pattern combines bold and fine figure and is fascinating both from afar and upon closer examination. The spine and ricasso have been rounded for comfort during extended use. The large blade is up to tasks like preparing game around the camp site, or preparing kindling for the fire. Aaron's maker's mark is on the left side of the ricasso and his M.S. mark on the right side.
The handle combines a hippo tooth, left almost entirely in the natural shape, with a spacer formed from nickel silver and black fiber. The tones of the hippo tooth nicely complement the antiqued and textured wrought iron guard. The handle provides a comfortable grip and perfect balance.
A pouch style leather sheath made by Aaron is included to keep the knife close at hand.
Excellent work throughout!
