Description: Aaron Wilburn became a journeyman smith in June of 2009 and a master smith in 2013. He has an incredible control over damascus that few others can replicate. Wilburn creates serious knives for some of the most avid collectors and knife enthusiasts. This Oosic Utility Knife will be as comfortable being used out in the field as it would in any collection!
The blade is forged from Aaron's own damascus, combining 1084 and 15n20 carbon steels. By using these carbon steels, Mastersmith Wilburn ensures a keen, long lasting edge. The flat ground blade is razor sharp and the spine is rounded for comfort. Aaron's maker mark is featured on the left side of the ricasso.
The handle is formed from ancient oosic fit nicely to a crosscut mammoth ivory ferrule. The simplicity of the handle shape makes it comfortable to hold in almost any grip you can imagine. The handle was polished smooth with some of the natural texturing left on the rear of the knife. This full size fixed blade only weighs 3.5 ounces making it easy to keep close at hand!
To protect the knife during transportation, a pouch style leather sheath made by Aaron is included. The swivel belt loop will swing out of the way when sitting down, making it an easy daily carry.
Excellent work throughout!
