Description: Award winning Swedish knifemaker Henry Hildén created this exquisite sole authorship Swedish Bowie. The fit and finish throughout is exceptional.
The multi-bar composite damascus blade was forged from 1770 and 15N20 carbon steel. Four separate bars of damascus were combined to create the complex pattern. The edge and spine bars are an explosion pattern. The central bars are twist pattern set in opposing directions. Hilden's grind lines nicely reveal the intricacies hidden within his damascus.
The handle combines mammoth ivory with Arizona desert ironwood. The contoured ironwood has a tremendous swirling figure. Mammoth ivory spacers add a nice contrast. Metal spacers formed from copper and bronze are extremely elegant. Borrowing from the world of Japanese swords, Henry created a sterling silver habaki.
The knife is accompanied by a traditional Swedish leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout from one of the great Swedish knifemakers!
