Description: Award winning Swedish knifemaker Henry Hildén created this exquisite sole authorship Nordic hunter. The fit and finish throughout is exceptional.
The multi-bar composite damascus blade was forged from 1770 and 15N20 carbon steels along with nickel for a high contrast blade. The edge is formed from explosion pattern damascus (combining 1770 and 15N20 carbon steel). Hilden's grind lines nicely reveal the intricacies hidden within his damascus.
The handle combines mammoth ivory with ebony. By crosscutting the ancient ivory, Henry shows off its inherent figure and provides tremendous contrast. The ivory has been fluted and scrimshawed. A textured ebony spacer adds just the right amount of contrast. The bolster is formed from mosaic damascus with fileworked and textured spacers formed from bronze. The handle is completed with a textured bronze pommel.
The knife is accompanied by a traditional Swedish leather sheath. The loop is sealed with a fluted ebony button.
Exceptional work throughout from one of the great Swedish knifemakers!
