Description: Mastersmith P.J. Tomes doesn't make as many knives has he used to, so I was extremely pleased when he called to let us know he had just completed some new knives that were coming our way.
Mastersmith Tomes describes the Clarkson Bowie as one of his favorite Bowie patterns. The long blade and clip result in a knife with tremendous presence.
This long Bowie blade was forged to shape from 52100 carbon steel. This steel, with its exceptional edge holding and bity, razor edge is felt by many knifemakers and collectors to be among the best steel for knives. The satin finish is meticulously performed and shows off great skill.
The oval guard and ferrule are both formed from 416 stainless steel and lead into the ancient walrus ivory handle. The handle is formed from a single piece of walrus tusk. Caramel stripes move across a burnt cream toned background. The handle is perfectly contoured for a comfortable fit in the hand.
Accompanied by a hand stitched leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout!
