Description: Jan Wahl, is a maker to watch. He became a full time knife maker in 2009 and joined the South African Knife Makers Guild in 2012. Jan has excellent attention to detail.
The 4.9 inch blade is made from twist pattern stainless damascus forged in Sweden by Damasteel. The high performing blade is also exceptionally beautiful. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it. The spine has been nicely rounded for comfort. Filework provides a secure thumb purchase.
The handle combines mosaic damascus hand forged by Mastersmith Kevin Harvey with dyed and stabilized maple burl. Red and dark green dyed maple burl spacers are a nice accent. The damascus bolsters are dovetailed to the maple burl scales, ensuring a perfect fit. This is a knife you won't want to put down. It is an ideal bird and trout knife.
This knife is accompanied by a vegetable tanned, hand tooled, leather pouch style sheath. The sheath is nicely dyed to reflect the colors in the handle.
Excellent fit throughout!
