Description: Journeyman Smith Bruce Barnett is a Western Australian knifemaker living in the hills of Perth. Bruce is one of the fine Australian makers who is drawing the attention of the knifemaking world to the wealth of knifemaking talent in his country. Bruce's attention to detail and fine design aesthetic is clearly apparent in this elegant and high performing folder. He has worked extensively with Mastersmith Bill Burke and Bill Ruple. He is a tremendous smith at the forge and his attention to detail really shows through in his slip joint folders.
The classic slip joint Trapper is given an elegant new lease on life in this knife by Barnett.
Both blades are formed from Bruce's River of Fire pattern damascus. This complex pattern was originally developed by his friend, Mastersmith Bill Burke. It is one of the most beautiful and elegant patterns currently used in the world of custom knives. The high contrast pattern looks great from a distance, yet reveals further intricacies upon closer examination. Both the skinner and clip point blades have smooth action with a firm half stop. The clip point blade is 2.9 inches long. The skinner blade is 2.6 inches long.
Handle scales are formed from cream toned ancient mammoth ivory. The scales are perfectly fit to front and rear brushed 410 stainless steel bolsters and are set on matching fileworked liners. The back spring is formed from CPM-154 stainless steel. Three recessed, hand domed pins complete the handle
Exceptional work throughout!
