Description: carlMichael crafted his first knife at 15 years old. His 30 years of artistry are reflected in this exceptional Swedish Bowie. It is fairly rare for Nordic makers to create knives of this size. This collaborative Bowie shows carlMichael's work at its best.
This 10-2/3 inch long bowie blade was forged to shape by Roger Bergh. Roger is a true master at the forge and this long blade is a tremendous example of his work. The center of the blade is formed from a bar of feather pattern damascus. Nickel bars separate the center bar from and explosion pattern edge and spine. By forging the blade to shape, Bergh ensured that the pattern follows the cutting edge.
The stacked handle combines masur birch burl with ancient mammoth ivory. The birch is nicely carved as it approaches the back of the handle. The mammoth ivory clearly shows the beautiful figure inherent to the ancient tusk. The carved, contoured handle is particularly comfortable.
The knife fits securely into a matching masur birch burl sheath. The wood is nicely carved to reflect the handle. The knife can be comfortably hung from a belt using the leather belt loop.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
