Description: Mastersmith Bill Burke makes knives that are as high performance as a knife can get. He is best known for his sheep horn hunting knives and chef's knives, but for the last couple years he has been making some of the most elegant folders to be found anywhere.
The damascus blade was hand forged by Burke. The high contrast, detailed spirograph pattern immediately grabs attention. The blade can be easily opened using the faceted emerald thumb stud. The blade is perfectly centered with smooth, consistent action. The rboot grind provides a particularly efficient cut with a detail-oriented tip.
The handle combines presentation grade mammoth ivory with engraved 416 stainless steel bolsters. They join in a perfect dovetail. The ivory, which combines green, caramel, and chocolate tones is tremendous. The colors in the ivory bark develop as minerals in surrounding soil move into the ivory across thousands of years. The bolsters feature a detailed floral scroll done by Burke. It is exceptional!
Excellent work throughout!
