Description: This Folding Push Dagger by Mastersmith Mike Vagnino has a tremendous sense of presence. A push dagger is a small knife with a "T" shaped handle, designed to be grasped in the hand so that the blade protrudes from the front of a fist, typically between the 2nd and 3rd fingers. The push dagger has a colorful history - it is believed to have originated on the Indian subcontinent, being brought west by the British. As the empire spread (and crumbled), push daggers gained favor among riverboat gamblers in Mississippi as a boot knife. They were also popular with early American law enforcement officials. This exceptional folding push dagger is a truly masterful creation!
Vagnino forged the mosaic damascus blade from 15N20 and 1084 carbon steels. The complex pattern is immediately captivating.
The handle is formed from 416 stainless steel. The interior is jewel polished. Both sides are meticulously engraved and surround a mosaic damascus backbar. Pressing on the lock allows the push dagger to convert into a standard knife and lock in place.
Excellent work throughout!
