The Gold Standard was designed by Jared Van Otterloo (JVO). The blade is perfectly centered with silky smooth action -- easily opened with one hand using the discreet and ambidextrous flipper toggle. It uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play. This Gold Standard Flipper uses two tracks of ball bearings, rather than just one, producing unparalleled smooth action without play -- even more so than standard IKBS.
The raised clip point blade is formed from Chad Nichols' premium stainless damascus for edge retention, high strength, and the toughness that a hard-use knife demands. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The scales are formed from 3D machined lightning strike carbon fiber. Copper stands move through the carbon weave. A mokume gane pivot ring is inlaid to add some extra flash. The mokume incorporates brass, nickel and copper, forged into a damascene pattern. Bronze anodized titanium liners surround a G10 backbar and jimping along the liner lock makes the liner particularly easy to disengage. The stainless damascus pocket clip is mounted for right-handed, tip-up carry.
This is a knife you will want in your collection!
