Description: carlMichael crafted his first knife at 15 years old. His 30 years of artistry are reflected in this exceptional half horn utility. It is fairly rare for Nordic makers to make sole authorship knives. Here, CarlMichael shows his devotion to sole authorship work, from the sheath, to grinding the blade, to all the handle work.
This knife is a traditional Sami style known as a half horn. The handle combines reindeer antler with mammoth ivory. Green mammoth of this quality is particularly rare. The stacked handles is tremendously beautiful. The carved, contoured handle is particularly comfortable.
CarlMichael began making the blade by grinding a bar of twist pattern Damasteel stainless damascus. The Scandi-grind blade will have a long lasting, exceptionally keen edge.
The knife fits securely into a traditional style Swedish sheath of engraved reindeer antler, mammoth ivory, and leather.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
