Description: Journeyman Smith Shawn Ellis lives in the Ozarks -- an area well known for hunting and fishing. After searching for a knife that would perform well -- holding a keen, long lasting edge -- Sean realized that he had to learn how to forge and create his own knives.
Shawn began this clip point bowie knife by hand forging the blade to shape from 5160 carbon steel. A hand rubbed finish lends an heirloom quality to this large knife. The raised clip is particularly elegant.
The 416 stainless steel guard and ferrule are hand satin finished and perfectly fit to handle and blade. The handle is formed from a single piece of presentation grade walnut. The handle is carved for a tremendous feel in the hand. It swells to fill the palm, moves into a slimmer waist and swells again at the end of the handle.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout - with a perfect sense of balance.
