Description: When it comes to making big knives that work for a living, there is none better than Mikkel Willumsen. As a full-time custom knifemaker from Copenhagen, Denmark, Mikkel’s style, which he calls "Urban Tactical" has gained a lot of notoriety. This knife is a Hummer built like a tank.
The blade is CPM154 stainless steel -- one of the "super-steels." This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it! The differentially finished blade has a stone wash finish in the flat grind and flats along with a satin finish in the central fuller. The blade is a stout pseudo-tanto shape with an aggressive geometry. A distinguishing feature of this knife is the way the blade opens and locks at a canted angle. This gives it a crescent shape rather than pointing straight out from the handle. The unique look offers both an ergonomic pistol grip and an excellent reverse grip. This knife uses ball bearings ensuring a silky smooth opening and a perfectly centered blade. A flipper offers a one handed operation as well as acting as a hilt in the open position.
The handle is comprised of two materials. A differentially anodized titanium frame is the backside -- which doubles as the framelock. The opposite side features a textured black G-10 frame inlaid with stacked black and gray G10. The stacked layers are beautifully revealed in Mikkel's complex contoured grind. A titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-handed, tip-up carry. A tremendously lightweight knife for its size, yet overbuilt for serious use!
