Description: Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley's knives are unique and immediately identifiable. From artistry of design to skill of implementation, Rick's knives always command attention. Rick creates folders with some of the smoothest action to be found. The blade is easily opened using the right handed thumb stud. A sapphire is set in an 18k gold setting.
The mosaic damascus blade and bolsters were forged by Rick from 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. The steel is highly complex with virtually no distortion. The heat colored steel has a golden tone that nicely complements the exhibition grade ancient walrus ivory scales. The ivory combines cream and caramel tones. Rick carved and stippled the surface. Dovetailing ensures a perfect fit between bolsters and scales.
15N20 carbon steel liners have been stippled and heat blued to a deep blue. The backbar is engraved, both inside and out. Screws throughout are heat blued and fileworked.
Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley has a tremendous level of precision and as you would expect, the fit and finish is exceptional!
