Description: Lamont Coombs Jr. is a knifemaker out of Bucksport, Maine who started making knives in 1988 as a hobby. Coombs got his start as a machinist, and began as a full-time knifemaker a decade later. He is known for making hard use knives with an impeccable fit and finish! This knife has been in a private collection since it was made and by all appearances, it could have been made yesterday!
This short drop point blade is made from D2 tool steel for excellent edge retention. It features a meticulous hand rubbed satin finish and a razor sharp edge.
Springbok horn scales are secured to the full tang using mosaic pins and a brass lanyard tube. The surface of the horn is nicely polished with the natural grooved texture. This offers an elegant, steadfast grip.
This knife includes a hand tooled leather pouch sheath. Excellent fit and finish throughout!
