Description: This Willem Steenkamp custom Tarpon EDC liner lock is a front flipper design and a fantastic utility folder. The clip point blade and ergonomic handle are perfectly designed for the task at hand.
Willem was accepted as a member of the Knifemakers’ Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) in May of 2007. His attention to detail is clearly evident in his knives.
The 3-1/3 inch clip point blade is made from N690 stainless steel hardened to 59HRC with a brushed satin finish. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The handle scales are formed from presentation grade desert ironwood. The bolster is made from Thunderstorm Kevlar. This rare and exciting variation on lightning strike carbon fiber combines brass wire woven into Kevlar strands. The scales sit on hand filed titanium liners with red fiber spacers. Both the backbar and liners have been anodized bronze. The pierced pocket clip has been anodized to match and is mounted for tip-up carry.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
