Description: Bladesmith Dakota Owen is following in his father Chris Owen's footsteps - the high school student has been making knives, sharing his father's forge, since he was 12 years old. He took up the hobby originally to spend time with his father doing something they both enjoy, but young Dakota is clearly a promising maker in his own right. Finding a maker with such exceptional fit and finish at this price point is extremely rare!
Dakota began by forging out the complex damascus for the blade and bolsters. Using three carbon steels rather than two creates a pattern that is immediately captivating with subtle complexity. The ambidextrous damascus disc makes opening the knife a breeze.
Anodized titanium liners are fully fileworked and surround the anodized titanium backbar. Damascus bolsters and mammoth ivory scales are precision fit. The action is smooth and consistent with the blade perfectly centered. Exceptional work throughout on a maker to watch!
