Description: Mastersmith Daniel Winkler created the Winkler II line in 2010. It is an alternate approach to an established tradition. Winkler Knives II is the result of processes Daniel Winkler developed over the past few years in order to provide axes and knives to teams within United States Army Special Operations and US Naval Special Warfare. Each piece in this collection bears the Winkler Knives II touchmark.
The WK II Striker was developed at the request of an Allied Special Ops Team. These guys wanted a knife that would not break away or fail under heavy use. The Striker provides a 3/8" thick integral hammer that extends approx. 1/4" beyond the handle. The knife is tapered and skeletonized to reduce weight. As a conventional knife, The Striker is made of 80CrV2 steel that is impact-resistant, sharpens easily and holds its edge well. The drop point design means that the blade's energy is centered, thus minimizing drift. Handle contours make it possible to comfortably reverse grip when utilizing the hammer for its intended uses. Dyed maple scales provide a sure, comfortable, grip.
Accompanied by ambidextrous lined leather covered Kydex sheath.
