Description: Corrie Schoeman creates some of the most dramatic knives coming out of South Africa. He has a unique and captivating sense of design that is only matched by the attention that he pays to every detail.
This D’Molish II is a stout little folder. High tech scales are machined from rare lightning strike carbon fiber. Copper strands move through the woven carbon fiber. This type of material was originally designed for use on fighter jets to redirect electricity. Lightning strike carbon fiber is among the hardest to find of knifemaking materials and is in very limited supply. Bolsters are made from solid bronze, and contoured for grip and differentially finished for color contrast. Titanium liners are hand fileworked, and a faceted ruby gemstone is set into the titanium backbar.
The blade is hand ground, high contrast damascus forged from carbon steels. The shape of the hollow ground blade is a recurve tanto and has a smooth, consistent action. It is easily opened using the flipper mechanism. A small Citrine jewel has been inserted into both sides of the flipper, for an added touch of elegance. A very usable yet classy piece -- able to hold up to use, but sure to feel comfortable in most any collection.
Excellent work throughout!
