Description: This exceptional folder was made by Andre Devilliers back in 1998. It has been in a private collection and is in new condition. By all appearances it could have been made yesterday. It does not appear that the blade has been used to cut or been sharpened.
The blade and bolsters were forged by Albert Fransen. Albert passed away some years ago. His steel is high contrast and immediately captivating. The spine and damascus back spacer are fileworked in a vines pattern. The blade has silky smooth action and is well centered. It is easily opened using the ivory thumb stud. Pre-ban ivory scales meet perfectly with the damascus bolsters. The handle is completed with a lanyard hole. Hand fileworked screws are used throughout. Exceptional work throughout!
