Description: South African knifemaker George Muller makes an exceptionally dramatic knife -- and at a price that would never be found from a US maker. The colors, textures and style all work perfectly together. The rare verdite stone immediately captures the eye. I can't say enough good things about this knife.
The hollow ground blade is formed from a five bar mosaic damascus forged from carbon steels. The complex damascus bars combine bold and fine patterns. The blade is opened using the faceted citrine thumb stud. Hand fileworked titanium liners are dual tone anodized and incorporate gold and purple tones. The liners surround a carbon fiber backbar.
Verdite scales add exceptional contrast. Also knows as “African jade” and “African green gold” Verdite is an emerald-looking stone with brown inclusions. It is an extremely hard stone, such that even experienced sculptors hesitate to carve it. This semi-precious stone and is mined as a by-product of corundum and has become very hard to find. Verdite has a hardness of 8.5-9.2 on the Mohs hardness scale.
Excellent fit and finish throughout! Accompanied by a cape buffalo hide belt pouch.
