Description: The SJ75 is yet another project from the mind of Mick Strider. The simple construction and pivot system has undergone over three years of development. The SJ75 has taken Mick over a year to perfect for debuting. Until now, all of Mick's folders have utilized a chain-ring bolt style pivot, while this model uses a new pivot system. The pivot is a solid .200” titanium bolt with a skull that is contoured into the bolt head. The contour matches that of the knife surface. The pivot bolt is press fit into the non-locking side of the knife. Both the pivot bolt and pivot nut are indexed into a double counter bore to insure accuracy. This pivot system uses a precision inner bushing to keep the blade at the exact correct tension. Mick comments, "this isn’t new, just the way I do it is". The bump stops are massive at .187” Ti. There is an open and a closed stop. The two stop pins add strength and rigidity to the knife, along with the scales which are made of 6AL4V Titanium which has been stress relieved, flattened, and double disk ground to +/- .002 inch. The 3D contouring is inclusive to the entire outer surface of the scales, including the lock web. The lock slot is cut using wire EDM at a 45 degree angle, rather than a 90 degree angle. This keeps the lock bar from over-traveling without the use of the Hinderer lock bar stabilizer. The lock has a “half cock” feature that keeps it from closing on your hand in a one-handed closing situation. The detent ball acts as a stop when closing the blade with one hand.
The two-tone S35VN stainless steel blade features stonewashed flats and satin grinds. Mick Strider's signature "Nightmare Grind" gives the knife a dramatically aggressive style. Jimping on the spine of the blade and handle provide excellent traction for the thumb, and when combined with the choil, allow the user to choke up on the blade for detail-oriented tasks. The extended primary choil on the handle prevents fingers from slipping up onto the cutting edge. Jimping on the underside of the handle increases grip retention in a variety of grip styles. Both sides of the handle feature a large cutout for a lanyard and will even accommodate up to 1/2- inch nylon webbing. The anodized titanium pocket clip is set for tip-up, right-hand carry. This brand new design from the Mick Strider Custom shop embodies the innovative, forward-thinking design sense that has made Strider knives the problem-solving tools of choice for knuckle-dragging-badass-hard-chargers everywhere.
