Description: Anders Hogstrom specializes in combining traditional Japanese techniques with those of his native Sweden. Anders used a Japanese method of heat treating the blade where clay coats the spine, resulting in a differential heat treatment and the subsequent gently undulating quench line called a hamon. This method ensures a durable knife with superior edge-holding. The blade is 1050 carbon steel with a distinctive armor-piercing tip.
The handle is formed from a solid piece of cross-cut masur birch. The dramatic wood grain combines a slight curled pattern with flames. The furniture throughout is textured blackened bronze. The handle pin is domed and counter sunk. A traditional Swedish leather sheath with a single seam and belt loop holds this outstanding knife. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
