Description: This hunter by Raymond Richard has an old world grace that is rarely found in knives by other makers. A Scandinavian influence is clearly visible in this knife, though Ray's own style also shines through. The L6 carbon steel blade and has a subtle drop point. Clean, elegant grind lines and a satin finish complete the blade.
The handle is formed from five pieces of walrus ivory with ebony spacers -- a dramatic contrast of light and dark. The slim oval shape swells slightly at the center for comfort. The ebony spacers are slightly concave and aid grip as well as providing textural interest. The central piece of walrus ivory has tones ranging from winter white to umber, while the others incorporate cream tones. The guard and butt cap are forged from antique wrought iron and have been hammer finished for a texture that complements the tapioca pattern of the walrus ivory well. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
