Description: Mardi Meshejian's work on this upswept knife is creative and beyond compare. The blade has been highly carved -- with the spine representing waves above the gently undulating, heat colored Damascus. The satin finished copper guard has been heat colored and brings the weight back toward the beach washed fossil walrus ivory artifact. In the early 1800s, such tools were carved and utilized by the native peoples of Alaska. The indentation on the right side of the handle was used as a friction point to start fires. Accompanied by a red heart wood presentation stand. Exceptional work throughout!
